Fault Diagnostic Equipment
Phoenix Aviation & Technology Time Domain Reflectometry (TDR) works on the principle of transmitting pulses of energy down a cable, when these pulses reach the end of the cable or a fault along the cable, part or all of the pulsed energy is reflected back, these reflected pulses are then processed further to determine the type of fault and how bad it is. TDR also measures the time taken between generating a pulse and receiving its reflection back, and when converted it is able to determine the distance to the fault. This technology is ideally suited for both copper and fibre based wiring systems and is now available from Tyco Electronics Worldwide.
